Correns is an adventure playground for adults and children alike, with a variety of outdoor activities and pursuits to keep you entertained in our little village.

There are a number of hiking trails that start directly from the entrance to our property, details of which are provided in our Welcome Guide or you can ask us anytime.  There is also an excellent ‘Walking Guide in the Var’ which is available to purchase at most tourist offices.  A good website for information on regional walks is
you simply enter your location and it will show you recommendations within that area.

Mountain Biking
The hills surrounding us and the Grand Bessillon mountain range have marked bike trails, please ask Pat to advise the best routes to follow. Bike rentals are available in Correns village from V’Hello Tel: 04 94 59 54 91 and also in our neighbouring village bike shop in Carces
  or phone 04 94 80 56 42, mention you are staying with Pat McQuaid.

Road Cycling
We are surrounded by superb road cycling routes and some of Pat’s favourites which he’ll be happy to share with you. Bike rentals again in the village from V’Hello 04 94 59 54 91 or Mycycles in Carces 04 94 80 56 42.

For the more adventurous cyclists, we located very close to the inland section of the EuroVelo Route 8 The Mediterranean Route, which starts in Cadiz, Spain, meandering along the south coast of France until it turns inland passing by Correns and then returning to the coast at Nice and onwards to Italy, Greece, Cyprus and finishing in Izmir, Turkey.

K-Noe is based in Correns and operates the kayaking on the River Argens. There are two starting point is in the centre the village on the riverside Reservations can be made online or by telephone 06 85 73 38 07.

On the outskirts of the village is the internationally ranked climbing zone of Chateauvert/Vallon Sourn. A very popular climbing area for all levels. Most popular in the autumn and winter when the crags are heated by the sun. There are over 250 crags, awed from 4b to 8b+. Climbing access is direct from the road and parking provided nearby. Fishing options are plentiful along the banks of the river Argens (cat A) that flows through the centre of the village. Category B and night fishing at Lac de Carces (10 mins drive). The fishing season runs from March to September and anglers are required to purchase a licence, which you can buy at the tourist office in Correns or online Carte de Peche

Wild Swimming, Bathing and Picnic
We are blessed to have the River Argens running through the centre of our village, which children enjoy bathing in the summer,. Also on the edge of the village and further up river is the Vallon Sourn, a protected nature zone with wonderful cliffs and coves. There are walking trails along the bank of the river and lovely bathing and picnic areas for you to enjoy. Dedicate parking is signposted and visitors are asked to respect the areas closed off for regeneration.

Waterfall and Swimming

Another great spot for children is La Chute Caramy in Carces, a waterfall and swimming pond. Follow the road direction Le Val and its located on the turn off for Carces.
